LSSU to host Mathematics Conference
Lake Superior State University will be the host of the 2008 meeting of the Upper Peninsula Math Association of America (UPMAA). The meeting is actually a 2-day event held on September 12-13 in which faculty from upper peninsula universities give talks on a variety of mathematical topics. Also highlighting the event are the two invited speakers, Neil Robertson of Ohio State University and Matt Beolkins of Grand Valley State University, who is also the current Vice-Chair of the Michigan Section of the MAA. Computer Networking Grads are in Demand

Students Fare Well in Programming Competition
Three LSSU University student teams finished in the top five of the 18 competing locally in the Association of Computing Machinery's Intercollegiate Programming Competition recently. LSSU was one of the satellite sites for the North Central Regional competition in this annual contest sponsored by IBM and ACM. -read more-
