Attention: Math/CS Alumni
We want alumni from our department to stay in touch. In our Alumni Spotlight, we will be featuring mathematics and computer science graduates on our web site. If you're a graduate, visit this web page and let us know what you've been up to.
Math/CS Scholarships and Awards
Every year, the Department recognizes outstanding students and graduates. Several scholarships are available. A complete list of all awards and scholarships can be found here, as well as a list of previous award recipients.
Math/CS Student Clubs
The Department encourages students to become active in organizations outside of the classroom. This not only allows you to learn more about your discipline, it provides social opportunities that will create longstanding friendships. Listed below are several student groups affiliated with the LSSU Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. If you're interested in starting a new student club or group, it's easy at LSSU. Just talk to a professor.
ACM Computer Club
The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international organization of computer professionals. Being a member at the college level provides for unique opportunities not available to students in other curricula. Not only do students have access to professionals and their experience in the field of industry, but by interacting with computer professionals while still in school, our members make contacts that will prove invaluable in the future.
For more information on computer contests, visiting speakers, and other computer-related activites, visit this web page.
